The master-servant relationship didn't always appear obvious. Akane, walking alongside an unchained Shadow in Dusky, brought one of these cases to the chipped sidewalk. Aside from chalk and receipts, little covered the street Akane rented out; she and some others tended to ensure the area had been satisfactory. The two's ensembles followed suit. Even if still red-haired, a la in her Cipher guise, pink bubble-coat and pale green workpants kept the cold away. Puffy beret, giving Akane an impression between a marshmallow saleswoman and an elite soldier, sealed it away for the better. The crisp wind did enough. The Linoone also found a scent, with a faint aroma of apple cider. Alcohol, depending on who noticed, may or may not have followed. The perfume did not fool Akane- however. Highlight generally weren't brown, not even in Linoone hair. One thing she couldn't understand is the Linoone's penchant for getting as dirty and as unsanitary as humanely possible. The appeal of, say, fleece sweater afros and can-gibuses would be lost upon Akane, even if the Pick-Up artist argued to the contrary. Dusky, lurking by a pool of Shadow water, twitched her lips. Akane started to withdraw a canteen from a pocket when the Linoone made a break for the river. With little more than a "goddamn it," concealed by a false smile, Akane whistled. The soothing sound brought the Linoone nearer. For some reason, the whistle always nabbed Dusky's attention. Almost. The location of a Shadow might just tip that scale, if only from extreme curiosity. Even if she didn't care for them after minutes, the iconoclastic attention Shadows received - which she, herself, could understand - also almost always caught her attention. A re-signatory Akane barely understood any more about Shadows than how to drag them away from people. Glacia Akane: #1000a1

Well, today was rather productive... at least, as productive as Glacia's ravings could manage to be for the sort of audience Garasu provided. Brute was already making his way back, Glacia's megaphone and a wooden, sturdy box in tow, while the Weavile decided to take a quick walk around the residential district.
After all, the only way she was going to know if what she was doing was working, was to see what shadows were whispering about in the background. Well, that started as the Weavile's intent, anyway, but after a few dry leads, she decided to take this time to stretch out her legs. She stifled a yawn into her claw, rubbing the back of her wrist against her eye. "Maybe I should look into public access... might not sound as nuts on-"
Hold that thought, what was that whistle? She blinked, eyes drawn up: it was familiar, like a trainer beckoning for her Pokemon to come back. Was someone loose? Well, hopefully something too big didn't come running down this street! That said, Glacia's own shadow aura wasn't something she was trying to hide at the moment:
If the draw was truly stronger, that silly Linoone would probably dart right for her!

Akane's initial draw back curled the Linoone with her. Time, as well as a hint about public access with nuts, dictated that there'd been something out that might be worth looking after. Shadow auras weren't things that could be realistically hidden. Dusky didn't bother with hiding her Shadow aura, though it also didn't mean she'd wait when some suspect Pokemon was itching its claws to get the drop on her. Smell receptors flared as the Linoone's hair stood, as if shocked by electricity. Akane even had time for a quip: "I didn't know you could go Super Saiyan."
Akane's distinction was a little smoother than misidentifying Reverse Mode - something a little better defined than this. Of all the sounds, all the possible reactions, Dusky went with a tilt of denial, with hints of humility. A brief flex, intended as the opening of sharp claws, Akane treated as eye-candy. "Oo-ooo-oh~?" From what Akane'd been seeing, this'd be a show to remember!
And a show it was, because wow, the Linoone started to fold. Their confidence formed fine, but without a hint of grace, as the Linoone's awkward greeting to the Weavile showed:
"Hello, Weavile. Who are you doing, today?"
Taft was rolling with laughter in his Poke Ball, and even the cold Akane puffed a cheek. The Linoone didn't know about how?. Still, she knew that...okay, this wouldn't be very good. Akane had a hard time seeing this end well, and only casually listened into this clusterfuck of a conversation.

Well, the whistle made sense fairly quickly. And if you asked Glacia, yes, there was a thing as too chipper, and this Linoone very quickly pressed on it! Barely looking at the Weavile for a moment, the rodent already addressed her and asked a rushed question.
'Who' are you doing? The Weavile shook her head, in shared embarrassment for the fellow shadow. It seemed that the symptoms of Cipher's experiments were quite varied, and this Linoone was no exception. Even if she could be a potential 'friend', Glacia considered passing on this one, at least at first impressions.
And, though she didn't know, if she figured out she was a current Cipher rat, there would be consequences. For now, though:
"I'm fine, thanks." Her words and tone were short, as she tried to brush by, and get past the Linoone. At that though, she stopped, a thought crossing her head. The trainer was close by, right?
"Actually..." The Weavile smiled, folding her claws, looking down at the Linoone. "By any chance, could you tell me who was whistling for you? Just curious, since I haven't seen you around these parts before..."
She was always curious about shadows' trainers...
And, if necessary? Forced liberation.

One might say Dusky applied a mechanical approach to a social event. But, based on the "I wasn't taught this" head scratch, the Linoone appeared genuinely lost by the proposition. "...what's the big deal? People usually ask "who're you doing" after hello." Unfortunately for Akane, this may have bode poorly for her, as distance may not have been the best tool. The stupidity
On the flipside, the Linoone made an attempt to engross herself in the Weavile's conversation. "Oh, the girl over there? Foodstuff." Paw drummed a flat stomach. The Linoone's odd syntax seemed to phase out, if just once: "Thought she'd throw me a biscuit or something, but nope. Just wanted me around." Dusky wasn't sure if Akane really gave a shit about her or not, but she knew the reverse: Dusky wasn't a fan.
Akane was not close. Not at all; heck, she left earshot. The already contemplating a quick getaway, and she was hardly in earshot of the two. The less she aligned with that Shadow, the better.
