Not as playable characters though, but as fused-together laboratory monstrosities that shamble through the decrepit wastes and buildings. I think it could really work for horror threads. They'd have to be pretty rare, suitable as perhaps a boss fight at the end of an ominous to clear out a laboratory, or stalking a vast expanse of waste after dark, spawning insipid rumors after a time.
