Name: Akane Suzukaze
Alias: Whiplash, The A-Sharp Major
Age: 23
Gender: Female
Height: 5'10"
Weight: 158 lbs
Alignment: Cipher
Birth Date: 27 February, 2020
Birth Place: Phenac City
Perk:
Akane is very competent at playing keyed instruments, and to an extent, can even build components for these instruments. She carries with her a folding piano with which to exert her perk. She oft confounds opponents with a sharp and unusual starting note, which is one origin of her nickname.
Personality:
When one first meets Akane, they're likely greeted by a joyous and friendly woman. Her ambitions are focused and detailed, with a slew of skills under her belt as a result. She's a fairly competent teacher, and is willing to show others "the light" (but for a very limited time, and almost never to completion). Her emotional state is fairly sound, give or take a rare depressive outburst, and her flirtatiousness, even without much of a romantic goal, complements her friendly attitude. She's most known for her ability to make songs on the fly. It feels to her, however, that the emotion in her music's all dried and artificial. To her, it's a matter of synthesizing whatever "emotion" she wants.
See, once you notice the Cipher tag, you might realize why she hasn't reached for a more friendly position.
She harbors a deep resentment for many of the people she meets, friendly facade or otherwise. It may have to do with her not being in the right state of mind, and simply refusing to do much anything about it. In addition, her sense of adventure's become moot. Something of a product of her family, she isn't terribly curious, nor is she hard-pressed to expand her boundaries. Enlightenment philosophy is something lost upon Akane. Those that do not want light, she feels, will never find it.
Akane believes in raw efficiency above all. She often overlooks the human element - usually due to general disdain - in her pursuit of the best. In doing so, she often twiddles with others' belongings or affairs. Given her centralism, Akane has no problem stamping down those she believes are below her. In fact, it may be something of a defense mechanism. Akane is very pessimistic, and seems to use her realist philosophy and blunt tone to guise this. All of this may lead others to figure out that she really doesn't know what to do with her life, despite her skills, and that she doesn't seem to trust herself as much as she used to.
Appearance:
Her typical garb is oft described as incredibly peppy. Hot pink, yellow, orange and royal blue are all common colors, as frills and trimmings aren't rare. Rainbow symbols and cartoon imagery isn't, either. It's usually quite conservative, rarely something one'd find in a club. Teeth are kept white. She's often seen in a felt hat. Her dialect is decidedly clear, give or take some occasional giggling. Her skin is extremely pale, even in the face of extreme temperatures. Her hair is naturally colored a light pink. She tends to wear whatever shoes fit an occasion.
Her Cipher uniform is something a little less energetic. One could say she takes style guides right from a vampire queen; with the red and colorless shades, she comes off as rather drab. A coat drags behind her like a priest's robe, covering her boots.
She is not culturally indignant, and should an event require a certain outfit or uniform, she will wear it to the tee.
Personal History: Her birth to Yuu (professional glue tester) and Rikku Suzukane (served one as a nurse) went rather smoothly, and she became the eldest of two children. Her younger brother, Sora, proved a pain in the butt to deal with. But she learned early to not give in to his pressures, and served an otherwise fair working-class life. Well, Rikku suggested moving to Phenac, but not much else beyond that.
She'd been known at younger ages for her desire to work in music. She brought out her best emotions. She brought out her worst, her most enlightening, and her strangest (she has a song on record about blue sprinkles for chrissakes). Her talent with did not go unnoticed by many, as it seemed many Pokemon Trainers and Pokemon alike could enjoy her presence. Taft joined her team around this point through sheer begging.
Akane lost her pride at around sixteen, when a string of failed university bids. right around eighteen years old. This's mostly because she faked a relationship with a man to get her Shelmet, Taft, to evolve, and then immediately broke it. She enlisted Leonard Cerrosa, a Cacturne, to aid her developing team...not a bad idea, but by then, she'd left her family without much contact. She felt her authenticity slip enough to the point where she took up the offer of a plainly sketchy cultist...only to be directed right down to Cipher's lair.
Cipher granted, and granted her the title of Shadow Bard. She reined in a Shadow Pidgey, which was probably produced by accident, and a Shadow Charizard, which was probably not. Akane barely managed the fight by utilizing Taft's impressive speed and Leonard's spiny shield. A third shadow, a Linoone crawling around headquarters, was assigned to her. She had to put her foot down on the theft of "Dusky."
But not all of her team was down with her continuing to serve the Shadow organization. Whereas Dusky's a proud Shadow and Taft's loyalty became fierce, Leonard (the Cacturne), deciding he's had enough of dealing with Shadow nonsense, legally bailed from her team. She put out an "office order" for the Cacturne's head, which's yet to be acted upon. To fill the void on her team, Akane caught a Goldeen with a stick and a graham cracker, and decided, "to hell with it..."
So there Akane Suzukaze stands: a full-fledged Cipher member, already through with some of the harsher jobs, but not necessarily stronger for taking them...
Pokemon
SHADOW
Pokemon's Name: Dusky
Species: Linoone
Gender: Female
Personality: Dusky is, to put it quite bluntly, a scavenger. She'd been one since she breached a Cipher hideout, looking for food. She despises being a shared subordinate to Akane and her fellow Trainer. She's really only around Akane for the pay. She has a bibliographic memory of local serial killers, which is bizarre since she can barely recognize most other topics.
Moves:
-Shadow Shed
-Thief
-Slash
-Hone Claws
-Pin Missiles
Pokemon's Name: Taft
Species: Accelgor
Gender: Male
Personality: This Accelgor would make a pretty terrible ninja. Goofy, lackadaisical, and tired, he's . He doesn't seem to take his old job of sand-Pokemon hunting all that seriously, either. His teasing personality belies his speedy analysis and sheer flexibility. He's the director of a three-part web-series where he jumps across a set of apartment complexes with fairly cheesy commentary. It seems Taft's around Akane because he feels he owes her a life debt for evolution, even if she really didn't do much anything.
Moves:
-Water Shuriken
-Giga Drain
-Bug Buzz
-Double Team
-Me First
Pokemon's Name: Douglas
Species: Goldeen

Personality: This Goldeen's a pretty new Pokemon to Akane's team, captured after her Cacturne's departure. Akanefound a tutor to teachtaught him an extremely powerful Water move so he can hunt Sand Pokemon. He is on the cusp of evolution. Some say he has a family two continents away, but the simple-minded and seemingly thoughtless Doug had not met them...
