Forum Rules
Yes, this may be something that you have seen several times before. But yes, please read and review these before you roll out your first application: in general, these all boil down to 'be respectful and mindful of the people around you. So without further adieu!
Rule 1: RESPECT
There's the old adage, 'you give what you get', and that's really how it applies in life. You can consider this the catch-all rule for those being destructive despite 'not technically breaking any rules'. For most people, this shouldn't be a problem!
Rule 2: Don't Clutter
Don't spam and keep things visually clean. The former is rather easy - don't make unnecessary topics and try to keep things simple - but for the latter, please don't stretch the page.
Proboards resizes avatars to 100x100 Pixels.
Signatures should be kept to 200 Pixels tall, and 500 Pixels wide.
Post templates and headers should have a maximum width of 500 Pixels. I also STRONGLY discourage using scrollbars, and for the sake of them being difficult to view on some browsers, no template should involve the use of hover text.
Rule 3: PG-13!
I'm serious here, both for legal reasons and the fact that we're being posted on Proboards: please, PLEASE keep it to PG-13 (or, in simpler terms, fade-to-black is what we are working with). Darker and violent themes are expected on this site, so the most I can ask is to be sensible about it.
Rule 4: Shattered Psyche is not your psychiatrist
This is, above all else, a role-playing site and not a social networking site. Sure, feel free to vent a bit, but please do not have it be the sole means for why you are on this site. For one, we are likely not qualified to work on your matters, and for another, it drags all the attention on the site to one direction.
If you have an issue with a member, even a staff member, please do not argue it out in public. Contact a staff member and we'll handle it how it needs to be handled (and in this regard, screenshots are very good. Remember, your 'Print Screen' key takes a picture of your current desktop in most models Windows 7 or newer).
Rule 5: The Minimum!
Please try to keep, at the minimum, 200 words per post! We will not, of course, be taking a ruler to every typed post, but please be considerate of the person writing across from you, and if you can, try and have your character be engaged with the situation at hand, and give something 'new' for your partner to hitch on a reply with, whether it be a question back or a returned attack. One person shouldn't be dragging it on for too long!
Rule 6: One Site Profile per Character!
Simple enough! I have no set rules for a limit on the number of characters you play, so long as you log into each and keep them active!
