Miracles Take Work [Alyssa]

On one hand, Alyssa understood Khail's use of passion, though went on: "Considering the circumstances that led us here, this passion - and the accompanying uncertainty - are good things." She did not talk Shadow politics any further.
On the same one, Alyssa couldn't turn down a solid government recommendation.
Almost. What a word to drive forward an image of vanity, where her fears were more rooted in security. She probably shouldn't have said that, in hindsight, but there'd been no changing the past. Didn't work in grade school; not around college; certainly not here. Fortunately, she got the definition, and even clarified that much: "I should have clarified: it was the limbo-area between almost and insist, but it seems you've finished that for me." With a slight tilt of the head, and a shake of the hair, Alyssa turned to Khail...who'd "You're asking a p-solution for an np-incomplete problem." Alyssa didn't even pause. "I hate that I can't give a solid deadline, but I must admit. Given the material I have, any estimate I provide to you now is not concrete. Fixing the signal issue would not take seasons to do if focused; however, it seems there's debate over if that's the right signal, and if that, if it'll deliver the intended effect."
Meanwhile, within the next ten minutes, her approximations begun to load...and they were equally roughshod as her estimates. While irked at the lack of specificity, and that few unlikely "signals" even passed in simulation, Alyssa understood that she really wasn't working with very much. Alyssa, still a worker of her word, did not stop until these last calculations passed through, where she could confirm this lack of specificity. But while this happened, she started to tap her hands on her desk. This was not a project she bow out gracefully, and just her presence here put her squarely in the eyes of the government. A leak to Cipher would leave them after her blood - not that they haven't already been. Though she understood this risk as well, that she couldn't identify the leaders had been another cause for suspicion.
She would've liked a fellow engineer to check for her, but at the same time, she may have well have found herself in a project she'd been both capable of serving for, and one that should be equally-competently managed. And, if done right, might just get Liuxang and fellow shadows out of their own hell.
"Pardon me," Polite once again, she gestured to Khail. "Thank you for your patience. I am willing to join this effort, but I must ask first. Are there any additional steps I must take to do so? That should not have taken long. "In addition, are there any post-signature procedures I should be aware of?"
