Name:Alyssa Laura Johan
Alias:The Trench Digger, "Miss Press the Button"
Age: 31
Gender: Female
Height: 5'11"
Weight:163lbs
Alignment: Civilian, Mechanical Engineer (Contractor) & Pokemon Trainer
Birth Date:21 June 2012
Birth Place:Above Orrean Airspace
Perk:
Ms. Johan had been born with permeating vision, allowing her to see through solid objects at will. Like a sniper adjusting a scope, can adjust exactly how much she can see through and what she can focus on. The absolute most she can pull is five feet of dense material, though prepare to watch a woman focus for a solid minute to get any food focus. She's doubly affected by the sun, and will wear glasses or goggles in harsh environments. In addition, if she's interrupted while focusing, Alyssa will be temporarily blinded. Lastly, her perk requires her to consume more transition metals.
Personality:
For one, Alyssa is a very solitary person. She does not force herself to enter any event she had no prior interest in, nor will she go out of her way to make a friend. She gains more satisfaction from solving a problem alone than with a group. In addition, she does not stress others' failures without reason. If someone screws up, she will be understanding of a situation, but though will typically move on or, in a particularly funny case, laugh. Rarely is she mean-spirited, however. Alyssa exhibits genuine care for those under her wing, always willing to provide training to those willing. She feels herself a happy person, even if not particularly bubbly or energetic. A general feeling of altruism, of good nature, helps her sleep well at night.
Alyssa is not very flirtatious, even if she can prove quite adventurous - perhaps even romantic - in her tastes. There's a good reason she's earned the nickname, "Miss Press The Button:" it's not an Eject Button.
Not easily distracted, Alyssa's known for the precision and timeliness she can solve problems in. Alyssa is mainly concerned with how that problem will be solved, keeping in mind numerical constraints. She knows, generally, when to stop pursuing one method and to move onto the next. Her curiosity spurs every here and then, though she only occasionally takes her newfound ideas to new heights.
Despite her strengths, Alyssa is still a very flawed person. She professes very little loyalty to one thing or another, including her government and country. She isn't confident her newfound trust will be mutually-shared. Alyssa's ability to bear grudges is not one many would like to test. She is somewhat paranoid of criminal activity to come, and if only so she can serve as active good, she has an intense need to consolidate power. Especially around her own work, she's gained a reputation as a control-freak, wishing to predict for and answer every possible outcome, no matter how irrational she knows that would be.
Alyssa tends to speak in short bursts, though her conversation may still be meaningful. If she has work to do, do not expect her to stay for long.
Appearance:
Reddish-magenta hair falls about chest-length. Alyssa curls her bangs to grant a wavier look. Her eyebrows are thin, her skin peach-colored, and lips thin, with the occasional dark-colored lipstick. Her attire is formal, typically accompanied by a long-collared coat. Some of her outfits are described as, "dictatorial," in part due to the long shoulder-flaps. Her undershirts tend to be black, and occasionally form-fitting.
Her stance is confident, and her gaze fixed. Her body type is relatively normal for her weight. She carries a rather deep voice, bolstered somewhat by inflection, and tries to smell as normal as possible - without any strong scents in any direction.
Personal History:
Alyssa was the third child born to Joe and Jane Johan, a family from a failing bean farm then struggling with city life. Her sudden birth had been the result of a pilgrimage to a once-in-ten-years family reunion. The two worked hard to take care of their children. Early on, they went hungry, but the two's work ethic left. A Cacturne named Trinidad served as their babysitter, taking little more than a few bottles of water, some food, and some quarter. Life quality improved drastically once Alyssa turned seven.
Not that she'd been a passive player. She learned to cook, to pick up after herself, to sew, and to read what went on with the family car. She had also been tested for mutations after a particularly dicey comment about her mother's intestine. That may have sparked a new diet, but it also led to a bit of - at least, until she learned to control her power more effectively.
She dug a "hangout" for she and her best friend to eat cake in. She did not understand the connotations of digging a ditch for her best friend, nor could she comprehend the fact that not everyone shares her vision. Her best friend left the young Alyssa heartbroken.
At fifteen, Alyssa had been chased down by a Poochyena. A girl seemed to be trailing the Poochyena clocked a bully in the face. Emulating her favorite spy movie, Alyssa provided video evidence to the principal under the table, and her charges were dismissed. It didn't stop her from taking some heat from her parents, but she found herself standing taller than she had been. A gym class teacher drove this message right home with a strong speech.
It wouldn't just be her family that noticed, however. One day, a Cherubi fell into her apartment window. Alyssa patched her up, talked about the weather, and the Cherubi went on her way. This happened about two more times before the Cherubi asked to be Alyssa's Pokemon. Though her parents did not grant her a Pokemon like for her siblings, Alyssa was furious. After demanding an explanation, she eventually received.
Her high school years were ones of work and training. She had been known for her discipline, and for helping provide IP of a roaming predator, which she described as pushing a button. "Computer girl" ended up getting a scholarship for engineering.
Once licensed, Alyssa found opportunity ahoy. She oversaw the development of a hydraulic crane, meant to provide more structure against stronger air resistance at a smaller cost. She built huge shovels, intended to cleave dirt under higher pressures. She drew shapes for unusual gears, including for pianos and for very antique items. Her ability to literally see through anything she could not initially had been a surprising help. To say she had work would be a massive understatement.
She also managed to raise a small Pokemon team from the ground-up. She'd taken Checkerface's egg from an auction, and brought in the rocky Nauru after stopping one of the Rhyhorn's tirades. It seemed to be a lot, but she had Madelyn on hand. Many of the Pokemon could manage themselves. Alyssa is an avid battler, though doesn't ever set her Pokemon in a battle she doesn't think is necessary, or that they won't want.
A Cipher operative failed to connect with the right her, and unfortunately for them Alyssa caught on. She reported them to the police. The next day, Alyssa returned to her home from work, only to send out all three of her Pokemon. Her home had been partially ransacked. As she recorded the ordeal, Nauru threw a boulder, incapacitating one of the burglars. That wasn't.
Alyssa thought she'd been safe from the Shadow endemic, but not this time around. Well, better to know what she'd be up against. She did what she could for the Hawlucha, going as far as to provide a chamber for him to rest in.
Alyssa spent more time training. She also spent more. Rumor has it she's set up surveillance cameras around the neighborhood, just waiting for the wrong person to enter her web...
Pokemon's Name: Madelyn
Species: Cherrim
Gender: Female
Z-CRYSTAL (LATER?)
Personality: Madelyn, once shy and reserved, grew to become a bold Cherrim. Her seemingly superfluously bubbly personality hides a thoughtful string of ideas. Not to say she's particularly good-natured. She is the devil on Alyssa's shoulder, suggesting Alyssa expand her worldview and to try thing upon thing, no matter the potential consequences. She does not like rejection much, but hates being alone far, far more.
Moves:
-Sunny Day
-Leech Seed
-Hidden Power Rock
-Solar Beam
-Dazzling Gleam
-Heal Pulse
Pokemon's Name: Checkerface "Checker"
Species: Chesnaught
Gender: Male
Personality: Checker did not grow to become bold, like Madelyn. In fact, he'd already been a strong, he'd taken his fairly large stature and fallen partway into arrogance. He doesn't feel he needs to hide much anything about himself; he knows exactly what he wants, and believes he has the means to take it. Unfortunately, despite Alyssa's and crew's efforts, he's also not very intelligent, and struggles to work with numbers. Here's a classic case: almost gave away his savings for a $1.00 bag of peanuts because he read it as a hundred dollars. Despite this, he makes an effort to get along with his team, and those around him that aren't jack-wild. Just don't expect him to go fall under every request.
Moves:
-Wood Hammer
-Spiky Shield
-Hammer Arm
-Bulk Up
-Pin Missile
Pokemon's Name: Liuxang
Species: Hawlucha
Shadow
Gender: Male
Personality: Some call Liuxang domineering; others, reserved. He isn't known to speak much, though it may be for the best that he doesn't. Liuxang is a creepy Pokemon. He'd always been an observant man, but he'll comment without second glance about how people react, will passively prod at fears, and will gladly remove that extra molar from the agitator's mouth. His past trainer called him "Toothcarver" due to the elaborate jewelry he fashions out of keratin.
He'd been a Shadow Pokemon for most of the years he remembered, and while he is not a fan of the newfound moodiness, makes little effort to quell it. Being just sixteen years old doesn't help, as far as his maturity is concerned.
Moves:
-Shadow Blitz
-Focus Punch
-Aerial Ace
-Roost
-Encore
Pokemon's Name: Nauru
Species: Rhydon
Gender: Female
Personality: A released pest Pokemon, Nauru became known as something of a local bully after occupying a desert stockhouse. She's pretty stubborn, as proven when Alyssa sent two Grass-type Pokemon and she still did not back down. Alas, her strong will and quiet wisdom are not her only positive qualities, as evidenced by her placement on Alyssa's team. Behind her intimidating exterior, Nauru may be one of the nicest Rhydon on the planet. That being said, good isn't soft, and she's learned the hard way that sometimes it takes force to get what she needs done. She respects Alyssa's profession, though she often finds she has to look up moves on her own. She is the one on Alyssa's team most motivated to take down those responsible for the Shadow Project.
Moves:
-Thunderbolt
-Scary Face
-Megahorn
-Rototiller
-Stone Edge
